Vicky

A PERFECT DEBUT

Known as a miler and 5-km specialist Vicky joins the Inaugural class of #CMSub3 to tackle the longer events. After two years and injuries and no improvement, she was ready for a change.

The buildup was not perfect as we experienced a few setback along the way, but as the weeks passed things started coming together.

We found a good training rhythm, build-up the mileage incrementally, and Vicky responded by setting PRs across the board, from the 5km to the Half Marathon.

June 21st came, and on route from Two Harbors to Duluth, Vicky made something special happen. She meticulously followed the plan and ran an incredible Debut finishing the Grandma’s Marathon in 2:52:11!

After a deserved recovery period, training resumed, this time with more ambitious goals. Early in the Spring 2020, she toed the line at the One City Marathon, to break the tape and come home with a massive PR by clocking a 2:47:23. This is not the end of the story as she continues to train fearlessly amongst our Leaders group.
