FALL PROGRAM, Start Date: June 12th, 2023
The #FasterTogether season is a unique opportunity for NYC-based athletes to work with professional coaches to train specifically for their race distance within a stimulating environment of athletes chasing the same goal. It is formed of various pace groups with most athletes running between 2hr45 and 3hr55 in the marathon. The Summer/Fall season begins in June and runs for five months
- Day to day training plan to your goal race
- Two weekly group training sessions
- Strength training program
- One-on-one check-ins
- Professional referrals (sports dietitian, physical therapist, strength coach)
The #FasterTogether community is a family of positive and driven individuals. It is composed of various pace groups which support the training and are dynamic as we progress within the cycle. Most athletes run between 1hr18 and 1hr50 in the half-marathon and between 2hr45 and 3hr55 in the marathon.
The program runs for five months and is divided into training phases, starting with base-building and speed development and becoming more and more specific to your goals as the weeks/months go by.
As coaches, we invest time in your athletic development and expect honest efforts, consistency, and a positive attitude. On our end, will do our share to ensure you have all the resources available to succeed and are enjoying every step of the journey, performance and experience work hand in hand!
Communication is an essential component for a healthy coach-athlete relationship and your long-term success, therefore we make ourselves available throughout the week for all of our athletes. Athletes are responsible for scheduling one-on-one check-ins when needed.
- New Athletes: Four-week online training plan from May 15th to June 11th to help you get a head start on the upcoming cycle. This is recommended for athletes who are new to the program as it will promote a more gradual build-up to the training and help you get accustomed to our language and training methods. $34 add-on.
- Returning Athletes: Six-week personalized plan from May 1st to June 11th to help you transition between seasons. This is recommended if you are planning to perform at races during that period of time. $54 add-on.
We meet every Wednesday evenings at East River Park Track from 6 PM and Sunday mornings in Central Park from 7 AM. Group training sessions will be held from June 14th to the week preceding the NYCM.
Every month or so, we will be taking one long session to a new location for a change of scenery (Rockefeller, Van Cortlandt,…).
Included: Professionally developed strength & conditioning program by Sam Whitney, designed to follow the training phases, enhance your performance, and keep you running injury-free. Please note that the strength program requires access to gym equipment.
- How fit should I come in to start the program?
Come ready to run but not in race shape. Sign-up for our pre-season plan for our further guidance. - What if my goal race is later in the season?
Your personal training calendar will be updated to your Fall goal race, even if it falls after our last in-person session. - What do I do on days other than Wednesdays and Sundays?
Each athlete benefits from their own training calendar via Training Peaks featuring day to day training recommendations. So on days other than our group session days, you will be assigned easy running, mobility work, strength training, or simply some rest! - What if I can’t make the group sessions? - Is the program just for marathoners?
No, the program also caters to athletes targeting a Half-Marathon. - When do registration closes?
Registration closes once the program has reached maximum capacity or on 06/01, whichever comes first.
